"She's into superstitions. Black cats and voodoo dolls!"

Last week when I was walking back home with Ashu in the stroller, there was this ladder propped against the wall on a narrow path. Now the old Boo would nt have given it a second thought and would have walked right under it. But that day I contemplated for 2 seconds, reversed the stroller and walked around it. I am so NOT a superstitious person! I was only considering Ashus feelings if she happened to be one. :)

Rather than superstition, its just being cautious not walking under a ladder - it may slip, someone may be climbing on it, something may have been place on it that can slip, etc...

Anon - Under the ladded myth actually makes a little sense like you have said and I knew that too. But that day, there was nobody up the ladder and it was propped really low and I would nt have had a problem going under it. Actually chances of me hitting it was more when I walked around it as it was a narrow path! But still... ;)

Boo, I, the most scientific and questioning of people you can find, have succumbed to not measuring the child when he's sleeping, not stitching broken buttons on clothes while he is wearing them, removing his evil eye when he seems unwell....what to say, our kids are making us superstitious...
