Idea!

I know I was complaining about how going out shopping with Ashu is a pain
and how I cant buy anything except may be a can of milk? Well, I had a light bulb moment last week when we were coming back from the library and passed a shoe store! :) Oh yes, I can buy a pair of pretty shoes for myself and bribe Ashu with a pair of flip flops and come home all the way grinning! ;)

By the way, those silly pair of flip flops costs as much as my shoes, can you believe that? And Ashu is not even able to walk properly and shes walking like a duck because shes not used to wearing sandals without straps. Who cares? I got new shoes! :)

Yeah, who cares! :-) Congrats on the shoes, Boo. Or is it Imelda Marcos Jr.? ;-)

Been there. Done that :)

Yes, the fancy sandals for kiddo's are as costly as ours. Actually, I find most of the kid's stuff are overpriced and I think its actually a business trick.

Priya - I have 3 pair of shoes in my shoe shelf. Including the new one! Im sure Orchid would nt mind but take a look at her post http://d-orchid.blogspot.com/2007/01/ok-now-do-you-agree-there-is-problem.html and the confessions in the comment section. I am relatively a shoe virgin! ;)

Kowsalya - And you did nt tell me earlier? I would have bought myself more pairs!! :) Yes, the kids stuff are ridiculously expensive but that does nt stop us from buying, does it?

Art - Some Bata Gyaan for you! Batas HQ is in Swiss and there are Batas everywhere here but of course they are as expensive as the other shoe stores here but it gives me a fuzzy feeling whenever I spot the familiar red sign. I was so excited when I spotted a Bata for the first time here and bought my first pair there and even took a photo in front of the store. Being away from home makes one do really crazy stuff!! ;)

Yep. We don't and thats what I meant by business trick. They know that parents do not mind (over)spending for their kids and hence priced such ;)

Me too! I LOVE shoes - although I gave up wearing heels when I got pregnant, and haven't gotten around to buying any new pairs since.

On a slightly related tangent (if that's possible!), do check out Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall-Smith. As you can see from the title, this is a guy who's got his priorities right! ;-)

I jest. But it's a fun book.

Kowsalya - Thats exactly what I meant too. :)

Anupama - The shoes are ok. The buying part was more fun that the owning part!! :)

SS - She was thrilled to wear sandals instead of shoes.

Moppets Mom - Same here. I have nt bought heels after I got pregnant. And my feet are so comfy with platforms that I think its good bye forever for high heels! Will try to get the book. Thanks.

WA - Dont worry, you are nt missing anything great by not seeing the shoes! ;)

MM - Thanks for the proof. (There you go Priya! See I told ya! ;)

I changed the settings before I posted the prev post on Baby S. Could nt bear to read it everytime I opened the page. :(
