He does something stupid. I tell him so. In trying to defend himself, he digs a deeper hole for himself. I yell and scream. He ignores me. I throw things. He walks away. In frustration, I rant to my mom. She asks me to be patient. Tells me not to yell and scream and throw things because its wrong. I yell at her. She tries to calm me down. Tells me that my temper has always been my worst enemy.
What about the person who started all this? He goes scot free. He gets sympathies. Hes patient incarnated. People think he puts up with me . Hes a saint. But hey, but what about the stupid thing he did? Its all forgiven because I threw things and that's pretty stupid too and how can I be so hyrpcritical and accuse him? The end.
ps.
my sis perhaps will take my side. But that's because shes biased. So no one will pay heed to her.

better late than never right?
Mother's always end up advising the daughter's, don't they!! Writing with subtle humour is always cathartic, isn't it? Everyone is smiling in the end..no?
Your labels were extremely hilarious!! :-)

Good one. Can totally relate Boo. You are damned either ways. Very annoying I know :(
Sigh! Happens to me all the time Boo. Hugs. It's maddening, innit??
I always tell my folks - especially hubby - that we should perhaps fix video cameras on walls so that we can replay and find out what a good girl I actually am ;)
And hey! when I first saw your headline I thought it's about the charming camaraderie that's flooding the blog world right now :D

Lovvvvvvvvvved this. Who else but you can do this. Tags were super good, especially loved the "nalla iruke nyayam". Tamizhin arumaye arumai.
Such truths! In my own marriage I found that being aggrieved meant that I had to do all the making up. Not fair, I tell you.
Sigh .. some women ...
:)))...
Somebody once told me, in this case, just take out all the china plates and cups and saucers and bowls, and take a chuththial, and break them all to pieces (make sure the other party is around is listening distance) - the message will be understood, and even if it doesnt happen (does it ever?), we can now have a good reason to go out shopping and get a very new fancy design plates and cups that we wished to buy !!! :)
@Madura: And it hits them right where it hurts too, in the pocket :D:D:D
:) ahem. i agree boo. very bad indeed...
I'm not married yet! But being in a relationship, this is already happening in my life(Minus the mother advising bit, "MY" friends(dhrogis) do that bit instead) Unfair world indeed!
purushan-oda idhellaam sagajam-appa!;-)
My life story !
i SO relate to that! sigh. but i would never be able to put it across this well...! :D
Great Labels !!
ogosh! Not sure f I should be happy that am not all alone, or commiserate with you. Men! :\
Nalla irukke nyayam...
The person who did something stupid 'first' should be blamed right? not fair I say..
Ingayum athe kadhai than.

Funny, I was thinking of a similar post yesterday afternoon about the husband.
Unga postslendhu thriyudhe - your hd oru vaai(since he doesnt yell)-kai(since no throwing stuff) illaa poochinnu - poor guy.
Make him do all those stuff and even if you are wrong everyone would say - poor girl.

Boo,
Awww.. Hugs... But awesomest tags ever! ;)
and why do i hav around the house mementoes of our quarrels like broken door handle/ broken remote/ bent steel plate/ non existent coasters (i can never say i want to buy coasters without eliciting a smirk in response) - and the sad part that ALL are linked to ME and not to the husband who would have started it anyway or rather triggered me - and that in my opinion is worst than the actual crime
hehehehehhehe.
Same blood.

The only thing is- I NEVER complain to mom/dad, because I know for sure that they'll take his side. I give him the silent treatment and the "stink-face" alternatively, but they don't work too. Pliss to make me a member in your club. :P

This is the first time I am looking at your post; I have not read any of your other posts. But looking at the comments and your post, I think you are fighting and throwing things only to reflect your frustration and your marriage itself is sound.
There are only two things really - either this is a way of expressing the extent of your anger, while still being in love
or it is a way of developing 'dvesham" which is the most dangerous thing in a marriage.
If any anger is allowed to fester then the marriage itself becomes meaningless, issues and egos become the husbands and wives.
I dont want to end up like the woman who at 85 years old , after being married for 68 years, after husband died, painted her house blue because she always wanted to do it.
in my mind it reflects very badly on the marriage and it is very sad. But then maybe I am romantic and not practical, which all your parents seem to be.
Yeah to succeed in this world is not the good task.Nice post on this.

That was a nice write-up. I simply loved it because you expressed 200%how I feel when I have tiffs with my DH. I exactly get the same feedback (un kovathai control pannu) from my dear Dad, irrespective of DH being wrong or me.
Let me give my version of title for your blog - "To get a good name in the world, do everything quitely and stay calm!"
