Ashu's Bookmark.

Q: How do you know when your child has graduated to reading chapter books?
A: When she makes something like the below bookmark!

Me: Ashu! You could have just placed a paper inside the page. Or any bookmark!

Ashu: But how will I know which page to continue reading from, Amma?

Keeping a bookmark on the page you finished reading and a note to remind you to go to the next page "without reading"! Im going to copyright it! There are books for Beginning Readers. But bookmarks? Height of Originality or what! Any buyers? :)

ps.
Though she is devouring the Rainbow Magic books these days, this bookmark was specially designed for Roald Dahl's "George's Marvelous Medicine"!

Totally patent-worthy idea! Better than using mommy's fingers as bookmarks (as is done in these parts) and expecting the 'bookmark' to stay put! *rolls eyes*

Her perippa thinks that is a very useful bookmark for him since he forgets whether to start from there or to skip it. One order of bookmark please for perippa!

Also what did she think of the book?

Mine has apparently read it at school and refused to re-read it at home as she did not like the grandmother becoming so tall that she shot out of the roof *rolls eyes* We clearly do not like our grandmothers to be vertically challenged - over or under.
These kids I tell you.

This was just so cute and terribly funny for me. I really think you should patent it or something like that ... it will be superb on a T-shirt too ...

I am just waiting for my children to reach here ... and ashu keeps me very hopeful as I am entering the thundering three from terrible two! Ashu keeps my optimism high and makes me feel that all of what I see now will evolve into something so cute and funny!

Chox - Im so glad you said that. Ashus teacher is reading it to the class currently and since we have the book at home, she was reading it here too because she was so curious! But shes very upset that Grandma is subjected to such atrocities! "Cant George just talk to her first? And ask her to be nice? May be she ll stop being so nasty. I dont like what hes doing!" is what she said! Then she got so scared that she asked me to read a chapter! LOL!

Kookaburra - Dude! Enjoy the threes! You ll soon miss this stage! no good comes out of reading and writing, let me tell you! only more questions we cant answer!!! I cant even write an email these days without ashu standing behind my shoulder and reading it and asking Qs!!!!
